Tuna with a Twist

Looking for a quick, healthy source of protein for your lunch or snack? Try tuna salad! This recipe comes with a healthy twist on the classic variation. It calls for avocado instead of using mayonnaise, which adds healthy fat and fibre. Just mix and add into your favorite whole grain wrap, pita, on crackers, lettuce wraps, or on a mixed green salad. You can also adjust the recipe by adding your favorite herbs and spices, onion, chives, celery… the possibilities are endless!

Tuna with a Twist

  • 1 can of light tuna, canned in water (drained, 120g)
  • ½ small avocado, mashed
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • 2 tbsp 0% plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 pinch garlic powder (or fresh garlic to taste)
  • Pepper to taste


  1. In a bowl, mix the tuna and mashed avocado together until they are evenly combined
  2. Next add the lime juice, Greek yogurt, garlic powder, and pepper and mix thoroughly
  3. Enjoy!
