This is just one example of a balanced smoothie that contains a healthy amount of carbohydrate, protein and fat. You can substitute any berries, and use a variety of liquids to make it your own.
EASY POWER SMOOTHIE
- 1 large ripe banana
- 1 Tbsp almond butter
- 1 kiwi
- 2 handfuls spinach or kale
- 1 cup blueberries or other berries
- 1 cup low-fat plain greek yogurt OR
- 1 scoop protein powder
Combine all ingredients in a blender, add a few cubes of ice (optional) and blend. The amount of liquid can be adjusted depending on how thick you prefer your smoothie.
