Vegetables are low calorie but be careful as to how they are prepared. Avoid vegetables dishes prepared with butter, truffle oil, au gratin (with cheese sauce), battered, breaded, tempura or are finished by drizzling oil over them. Pick or ask for a vegetable dish that is steamed, raw or prepared with the flavours of herbs and spices to collect the benefit of eating lower calories.
