Shauna Thompson is a psychometrist at Copeman Healthcare Calgary Centre. Prior to joining Copeman Healthcare, she worked with a child welfare crisis organization, and taught English in South Korea for over 5 years.
As a psychometrist, Shauna’s experience includes work at Alberta’s Children’s Hospital; a brain injury and mental health hospital in Alberta an at the community services centre of Foothills Academy, doing psycho-educational & social-emotional assessment and intervention with children with learning disabilities and/or ADHD.
She holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Alberta and a M.Ed. in Psychology from the University of Calgary (Master’s in School Psychology & Applied Child Psychology). Shauna plans to complete her doctorate in psychology in a couple year’s time.
Shauna has specialized training in the assessment of cognition and learning, and intervention to support the same. She has a special interest in children and family psychology, ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and learning processes.
Outside of school and her career, Shauna enjoys kayaking, indoor rock climbing, photography and cooking (because she loves great food!).
