Sean Butler is a Psychometrist at the Copeman Healthcare Centre in Vancouver.
He completed his Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Simon Fraser University and is currently in the third year of his Ph.D. at SFU.
His research is centred on better understanding internal and interpersonal factors associated with impulsive behaviours in emotionally dysregulated populations. His doctoral research is focused on the relationship between engagement in self-harm behaviours, the perceived expectations or motivations involved in these behaviors, and mental health outcomes.
Clinically, he has received training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), with a focus on providing evidence-based treatment to adults and adolescents with a variety of psychological difficulties including mood and anxiety disorders, self-injury, substance use, and personality disorders.
