Family Health Nurse Practitioner
Niki VanStaden is a Family Health Nurse Practitioner at the Copeman Healthcare Centre in Calgary. Her first degree was completed at the University of British Columbia with a focus in forest biology in 2000. After working in forest education and providing summer camp programs to youth, she applied this experience along with being a First Aid Attendant and Instructor to her next venture of obtaining a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Calgary in 2004.
Niki’s nursing experience includes general medicine, pediatric general surgery, community dialysis, and 5 years at the Chronic Kidney Disease Clinic. Her past exposure of working with chronic illness has created an interest for preventative healthcare, health promotion and client empowerment.
Outside of work and school, Niki enjoys skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, mountain biking and lazy days at the lake where she grew up in BC with her family.
