Mathieu-Luc Boulet is a kinesiologist and certified exercise physiologist at the Copeman Healthcare Centre in Vancouver.
Mathieu received his Bachelor of Kinesiology degree with a specialization in Sports Performance from Laval University in Quebec City. With the goal of optimizing his skills in the assessment of musculoskeletal disorder and rehabilitation, Mathieu took the opportunity to spend his last semester at the University of Law and Health in the city of Lille, France. Here he gained expertise in the fields of sports rehabilitation, physiology and performance.
Upon returning to Quebec City, Mathieu added extensive experience in the field of exercise of physiology. Here he led exercise physiology labs, performed fitness assessments and conducted spirometry, resting metabolic rate, stress test electrocardiogram and calorimetric VO2max tests. During this period, he was also dedicated to further developing his clinical skills by interacting with a multidisciplinary team, implementing individualized rehabilitation programs and for having exercise as a front pillar of chronic disease management.
To benefit from the clinical interdisciplinary approach that was expanding on the West Coast, Mathieu decided to relocate to Vancouver. Here he has further developed his skills in physical rehabilitation and musculoskeletal disorder and expand his area of expertise by working in different clinical settings including a physiotherapy clinic, a return to work/motor vehicle accident program and a sports medicine clinic.
More recently, Mathieu has developed interests in the fields of concussion management, cancer care and providing guidance in musculoskeletal disorder management such as osteoarthritis, arthritis and cardiovascular rehabilitation.
In his free time, you’ll see him enjoying BC’s outstanding playground, trail running, playing soccer, surfing, hiking and alpine and back-country skiing.
