Family Health Nurse Practitioner
Janet Luimes is a family health nurse practitioner at the Copeman Healthcare Centre in Calgary.
Janet graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Nursing Science and Masters of Science in Nursing. She practiced as a registered nurse in the emergency department, chronic disease management and primary care before returning to school at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario to earn a Post-Masters Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Diploma.
Janet has worked at a variety of family practice clinics in Ontario and Saskatchewan, providing primary health care services to clients across the age spectrum, including program planning and evaluation. Janet is passionate about health education of both clients and health professionals and has worked as an Assistant Professor for the College of Nursing University of Saskatchewan. Her approach to care is founded on evidence-based, patient-centred care that emphasizes health promotion and disease prevention.
Janet enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, especially hiking and biking.
