Dr. Tracy Thomson is a Family Physician at the Copeman Healthcare Centre in Calgary.
Dr. Thomson has over 25 years of medical practice experience. She obtained her honours Physiology degree prior to completing her Medical Doctorate from the University of Western Ontario. She then moved West to complete a family medicine residency in Calgary.
Dr. Thomson is passionate about preventative health and lifestyle management. She has worked in various public and private health care settings and strives to seek a well-rounded approach to diagnosis and treatment. Her areas of interest include functional medicine, brain mapping and stress reduction. Dr. Thomson has a holistic approach to medicine and is determined to get to the root cause of disease, rather than just treating symptoms.
Dr. Thomson has furthered her education by attending UBC for anaesthesia, the University of Alberta for traditional Chinese medicine and the United States for a fellowship in functional anti-aging medicine and brain health. She is currently involved in a three year training program on mindfulness and meditation.
Dr. Thomson is a member of the Institute for Functional Medicine, the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, and is a past member of the Young Presidents Organization. She has taught medical students and residents in primary care practice for many years at the University of Calgary and the University of Alberta.
Dr. Thomson received her Fellowship in the College of Family Physicians of Canada (FCFP) in 2018.
In her free time, Dr. Thomson enjoys cycling, skiing, hiking, yoga and being out in nature with her children.
