Dr. Tasha Bienert is a family physician at the Copeman Healthcare Centre in Vancouver.
As a family medicine graduate from the University of Calgary Dr. Bienert was selected as a recipient of the nationwide Family Medicine Leadership Award. She also holds a Bachelor of Science, a Bachelor of Education, and a Master of Arts degree in the field of technology in education.
In addition to her expertise in family medicine, Dr. Bienert maintains a special interest in dermatology. She has researched and authored several dermatological papers, including one on skin cancer prevention that was presented at the Canadian Dermatological Association’s Annual Conference. She is currently enrolled in a Diploma of Dermatology which expands her knowledge above general family practice training.
Dr. Bienert is an experienced educator, having taught nurse practitioner students in Vancouver and high school students in Calgary. Tasha continues to pursue excellence in communication and care with individual patients and in group settings. This, in combination with good listening, is what paves the path for a strong patient-physician relationship which is why Dr. Bienert pursued medicine. The ability to help her patients and follow their, and their families, health throughout the years is (in her words) “an absolute privilege and why my job is the best!”.
In her spare time Dr. Bienert enjoys spending time with her two young children and husband, being active – running is her favorite sport, cooking for family and friends, and time at their home in Naramata. Her family travels to Lesotho Africa yearly to embrace the amazing opportunity to help the beautiful Lesotho orphans. Giving back has provided herself, and her family, with life lessons that remain unmatched and a sense of gratitude that permeates everything.
Dr. Tasha Bienert is supported by Clinical Care Coordinator, Constanze Chen.
