Dr. Sarah Doherty is a family physician at the Copeman Healthcare Centre in Vancouver.
Dr. Doherty received her degree in Health Sciences as well as her medical training (MD) from the University of Ottawa. She completed her residency training at the highly regarded St. Paul’s Family Practice Residency Program.
Dr. Doherty has a strong belief in a patient-centred approach to practicing medicine. She treats patient’s problems with empathy and values the mutual respect of the doctor-patient relationship. Her clinical interests include women’s health, maternity & newborn care and addictions medicine. Dr. Doherty is certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation. She is also a clinical instructor with UBC Family Practice and was the recipient of the Peter Grantham Resident Teaching Award in 2016.
Dr. Doherty was born and raised in Ottawa and speaks fluent French. She played rugby for many years and often competes in triathlons and marathons. She also teaches spinning classes and enjoys skiing, hiking and cycling in her free time.
