Dr. Strydom is a family physician at the Copeman Healthcare Centre in North Vancouver.
Dr. Strydom obtained his medical degree from the University of Stellenbosch Medical School in South Africa. After completing his internship, he spent two years at the Institute of Maritime Medicine in Cape Town where he worked as a general practitioner and ships doctor. During his time there he obtained certification as a Scuba Diving and Marine Medical Officer.
Thereafter, Dr. Strydom spent a year in England where he worked as Senior House Officer at the Royal Hants County Hospital in Winchester. He then moved to Canada to practice rural medicine in Northern Saskatchewan and Northern Alberta for four years before he established his general practice in Abbotsford in 1995. In 2002, he moved to Vancouver and has been engaged in practicing family medicine since then.
A significant part of Dr. Strydom’s practice is focused on the primary prevention and early detection of disease. He promotes healthy lifestyle choices and leading a balanced life. These goals are achieved through incorporating a multi-disciplinary team approach.
Dr. Strydom is an avid sailor and enjoys mountain biking, skiing, tennis and playing the guitar.
