Dr. Chris Dawkins, BM, MRCGP, LMCC is a Family Physician at the Vancouver Copeman Healthcare Centre with over 30 years of medical experience. He received his medical degree and Family Medicine residency training in England before emigrating to Canada in 1991. He returned to the UK in 1997 to set up a General Practice in the Cotswolds and raise his family. He returned to the Lower Mainland to continue family practice in 2011.
Dr Dawkins is passionate about holistic healthcare and identifying the cause of his patients’ symptoms. In pursuit of this he has undertaken training in nutrition (British Society of Allergy, Environmental and Nutritional Medicine), acupuncture (Acupuncture Foundation of Canada), homoeopathy (Royal London Homeopathic Hospital) and herbal medicine. While in the UK he ran a successful Integrated Medicine practice in Oxfordshire for 10 years where he was able to help many patients with complex medical problems that were not amenable to conventional therapy.
During his career, Dr Dawkins has worked as a medical appraiser of other doctors, as a GP Tutor at Oxford University Medical School and as an Emergency Room physician in Bermuda. He also has experience in medico-legal and occupational medicine, and life coaching.
When Dr. Dawkins is not practicing medicine, he enjoys traveling, skiing and spending time with his family.
