Arash Aghshahi is a kinesiologist with Copeman Healthcare’s Vancouver Centre.
Arash is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist ™ (CEP) and a High Performance Specialist™ with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP), the two highest credentials a practitioner in exercise science can obtain in Canada. To ensure his clients set goals and make concrete action plans, Arash is certified in Brief Action Planning (BAP) with the Centre for Collaboration Motivation & Innovation (CCMI). Arash holds a Bachelor’s in Human Kinetics from UBC Okanagan with a concentration in Clinical Exercise Physiology. While at university, Arash also minored in psychology. Additionally, Arash studied abroad in Australia, which widened his knowledge in clinical counselling and sport performance.
Arash has extensive hours and experience working for Vancouver Coastal Health, facilitating a pulmonary rehabilitation program and teaching classes to adults or older adults at risk for chronic diseases. Arash has also worked in cardiac rehabilitation, where he helped clients with heart conditions get back to their normal routines. Arash’s scope includes the treatment of a variety of conditions, as well as those with high performance goals. His main interests include the treatment of cardiac/pulmonary conditions and pre-diabetes with the goal to replace medicine for exercise.
Arash has taken on many leadership roles and was previously elected faculty student senator, taking on senior positions within his student association. He is fluent in both English and Farsi. Arash strives for a patient centred approach in his practice. He enjoys walking clients through every step to ensure they feel safe and ready for their next health goal. Arash believes that his knowledge of physiology and psychology can be applied to anyone with the goal of better health and performance. Arash enjoys travelling, hiking around BC, weight lifting, experimenting with different recipes while cooking, and reading random books at Indigo.
