Psychological Health Services
The cost of mental health disorders to organizations is staggering. It is estimated that over $7 billion is currently being spent in Canada on uninsured psychological health services and time off work for stress, depression and distress that is not being treated by the health care system.
These costs are only the ones that can be readily measured. “Presenteism”, a global problem where personnel are showing up for work but have impaired concentration and productivity, could possibly dwarf “absenteeism” in terms of costs to the organization. Moreover, there is a close relationship between psychological health and the physical health of individuals, increasing the seriousness of the problem.
At Copeman Healthcare, our priority is the early detection of treatment of anxiety and mood disorders in the workplace. Private and public workplaces provide a unique opportunity to research effective methods, particularly because there is an alignment of interest in dealing with the problem.
In January 2007, Copeman Healthcare established the Copeman Neuroscience Centre with the specific mission of working closely with organizations on advanced research and programs of psychological health prevention and early detection. The Centre also provides advanced therapeutic services, delivered by prominent psychologists and psychiatrists (more).
If your organization is interested in becoming directly involved in research and treatment programs being conducted at the Neuroscience centre, please executivecare@copemanhealthcare.com';void 0">email us for more information.
