The Copeman Healthcare Centre was conceived to improve the longevity and quality of people’s lives by providing unparalleled standards of personal healthcare. We believe that we can accomplish this by:
- Achieving excellence in the quality of care we provide;
- Providing timely and efficient access to the expertise of healthcare professionals;
- Focusing intently on comprehensive preventive health programs to eliminate or minimize the impact of injury or illness.
The organization feels that it is our moral and social duty to achieve this mission. In order to do so, it is important that we be guided by a set of values that are never compromised. These values are:
- We believe that achieving our mission requires an unyielding focus on people. These are the clients that we serve, who must always feel our sincere desire to help improve their health and well-being, as well as the employees and practitioners that are essential in providing quality healthcare.
- We believe that a universal, publicly funded and administered healthcare system for essential medical services is worth protecting so that no person ever experiences catastrophic financial loss due to illness or injury.
- We believe we have an obligation to conduct research and develop new and cost effective approaches to delivering optimal healthcare outcomes so that no person is ever put in a position where their health is compromised by scarcity of publicly funded resources in the face of rising costs. We must play our part in ensuring the strength and integrity of the public health system by innovating and sharing that innovation with governments and other stakeholders.
- We believe that governments need to strongly advocate health prevention and encourage people to invest in comprehensive and personal programs of therapeutic lifestyle change and we must strive to help our country transition from a culture of “illness care” to a culture of “healthcare”.
- We believe that achieving our mission requires close cooperation with government, the College of Physicians & Surgeons, provincial medical associations, the local population of physicians, other health organizations, and the communities in which we operate.
- We believe that we have an equal responsibility to our partners and shareholders to become a growing business and a leader in our field. And we believe that creating a culture that focuses on people instead of profit will provide us with a distinct advantage in achieving this.
- We believe that the conduct of our people and our business as a whole must at all times demonstrate a deep concern for health, integrity, citizenship, safety, and the environment.
